I couldn’t think of a better way to launch a new blog devoted to issues of media and politics than by posting this video:
The video, produced by Michael Wesch, is called “The Machine is Us/ing Us” and is a fantastic visual overview of the Web 2.0 phenomenon. Before viewing this for the first time a few months ago, I must admit that I would have been hard-pressed to define exactly what the definition of “Web 2.0″ actually was. Was it the rise of 2 way communication online? The rise of social networks? The move from HTML to XML? RSS Feeds?
This video makes it clear that the Internet is still evolving. I’m looking forward to finding out how this will change our notions of political communications and governance.
