Do Crazy Libertarians Belong on U.S Currency?

They’re ALREADY putting Ron Paul’s face on a coin?

Federal agents raided the headquarters of a group that produces illegal currency and puts it in circulation, seizing gold, silver and two tons of copper coins featuring Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul.

Agents also took records, computers and froze the bank accounts at the “Liberty Dollar” headquarters during the Thursday raid, Bernard von NotHaus, founder of the National Organization for the Repeal of the Federal Reserve Act & Internal Revenue Code, said in a posting on the group’s Web site.

(thanks, Norm)

Also, that reminds me. The Washington Post has taken a a look at Paul’s kooky idea of eliminating the Federal income tax and explained why that would never work. Read the analysis in Michael Dobb’s fact checker column.

Ron Paul isn’t a libertarian. His stances on abortion, the military ban, government support of religion, and immigration are examples of his anti-libertarian views.

Paul is really a far right populist in the mold of Pat Buchanan and David Duke. The latter already has endorsed Paul

He has his own personal views on abortion, military ban, etc., but he doesn’t think United States laws and policies should reflect his personal beliefs for himself. He says very definitely that the government shouldn’t be involved in restricting the rights of the people to have their own personal beliefs, regardless of what his are for his own life, which is very Libertarian.
